Advertising Statement
Advertising Policy
1. Separation of Content and Commerce
INSS Press maintains a strict separation between editorial decision-making and advertising revenue.
- Independence: The acceptance of an advertisement is in no way a guarantee of editorial favor. Editors and peer reviewers are blinded to advertising contracts and have no role in the selection or approval of advertisers.
- Non-Endorsement: The appearance of an advertisement on our platforms does not constitute an endorsement by INSS Press or the Editorial Board of the product, service, or company advertised.
2. Advertising Standards and Suitability
All advertisements must be relevant to the scholarly, professional, or academic community.
- Prohibited Content: We do not accept ads for tobacco, alcohol, weapons, gambling, political parties, or religious organizations.
- Scientific Integrity: We reject any advertisement for products or services that make unsubstantiated medical or scientific claims.
- Predatory Services: Advertisements from "paper mills," predatory publishers, or unethical editing services are strictly prohibited.
3. Placement and User Experience
To ensure that advertising does not interfere with the reading of scholarly research:
- Labeling: Every advertisement must be clearly identified with the heading "Advertisement" or "Sponsored Content."
- Interference: Advertisements will not be placed "in-line" within the text of an abstract or a research article. They are restricted to the header, footer, or sidebars of the website.
- Digital Integrity: We do not allow "pop-up" or "interstitial" ads that block the view of the research content or force the reader to engage before accessing the PDF.
4. Privacy and Data Collection
In compliance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and international privacy standards:
- Targeting: Advertisements may be served based on the general subject area of the journal, but we do not share individual user data (names, emails, or reading history) with third-party advertisers.
- Cookies: Any use of tracking cookies by advertisers must be disclosed in our Privacy Policy, and users must have the option to opt-out.
5. Policy Enforcement
INSS Press reserves the right to unilaterally remove any advertisement that is found to be in violation of this policy or that receives a significant volume of credible complaints from our readers. If an ad is removed for ethical reasons, no refund will be issued to the advertiser.
