Journal of Health Geography and Public Health (JHGPH) is an open-access, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing research and dialogue at the intersection of health, geography, policy, and the social sciences.

We welcome original research, reviews, commentaries, and case studies on topics such as:

Spatial epidemiology, disease ecology, and risk assessment
Environmental health, climate change, and pollution
Public health planning, health systems, and policy analysis
Social and behavioral determinants of health

Journal of Health Geography and Public Health (JHGPH)

The Journal of Health Geography and Public Health (JHGPH) is an open-access, transdisciplinary and multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research with the support of an experienced Editorial and Advisory Board.

JHGPH aims to publish cutting-edge research and perspectives in health geography, human health and well-being, spatial epidemiology, disease ecology, environmental pollution and human risk assessment, public health, global health, epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, sexual and reproductive health, population health, spatial aspects of health care delivery, health care policy, and medical research. The journal welcomes scholarly contributions including original articles, research notes, reviews, commentaries, case reports, and short communications.

Peer Review

Peer Review & Ethics

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts are subject to a rigorous and fair blind peer-review system. Accepted papers will appear online within two weeks, followed by printed hard copy. The Journal of Health Geography and Public Health (JHGPH) employs a highly rigorous blind peer-review process to assure that published papers are scientifically accurate, pertinent, novel, and significant.

Authors must disclose all conflicts, affiliations, and financial associations so that published content is unbiased. Manuscripts are submitted and processed online with the support of Journal Editors and Reviewers.

Editorial Decisions

After initial editorial screening for scope and quality, suitable submissions are sent to reviewers. Based on reviewer reports, the editor may issue decisions such as: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. Authors should address all reviewer and editor comments in a response letter when revising.

Ethical Responsibilities

Conflicts of Interest: Declare all potential conflicts for every author.
Human Subjects & Ethics Approval: Provide statements of ethical approval and informed consent where applicable.
Data Integrity: Report methods and data honestly; fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism are unacceptable.
Authorship: Limit authorship to those who made substantial contributions; acknowledge others appropriately.
