Core Evaluation Criteria

  1. Originality & Novelty — New perspectives, methods, or findings; advances beyond the literature.
  2. Significance & Contribution — Relevance for scholars, policymakers, and/or the public.
  3. Theory & Literature — Solid theoretical grounding; comprehensive and current review.
  4. Methodological Rigor — Appropriate design, data, and analysis; reproducibility where feasible.
  5. Argument & Conclusions — Logical, coherent, well-supported; avoid overinterpretation.
  6. Clarity & Structure — Organization, writing quality, figures/tables readability.
  7. Fit to Scope — Alignment with IJNMP’s aims and topics.
  8. Ethics — No misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication); human-subjects compliance.

Review Workflow

IJNMP operates a double-blind review. Keep all materials confidential. Please submit your report within 3–4 weeks where possible.

Recommendation Options

  • Accept
  • Minor Revisions
  • Major Revisions (re-review typically required)
  • Reject

Suggested Review Letter Outline

  1. Summary of the manuscript’s topic and contribution
  2. Major strengths
  3. Major concerns (numbered)
  4. Minor comments (style, clarity, references, figures/tables)
  5. Optional confidential notes to the editor
